Data Encryption Standard (DES)

DES is a Feistel cipher, so it is also a block cipher.

The block size is 64 bits, with a key size of 56 bits (then another 8 bits for parity).

DES is susceptible to optimised exhaustive search attacks, though there is a modified version (Triple DES or 3DES) in which you use DES three times with three keys.
